Been to the doctors for antibiotics on infected nail.. will i die?

im paranoid. I have slammed my hand in a door last week. The nail hasnt come off yet but is on the vurge. It smells gross however i have been cleaning it with tcp and boiling water mixture. Im on antibiotics to treat the infection. I have been taking it since yesterday.. It still smells. I have no symptoms of any other except a still swollen finger.. im paranoid im going to get blood poisoning or something?!
